Importance of Breakfast For Children

Question:
Why is breakfast so important for children?

Answer:
A nutritious breakfast gives children a nutritious start to their day! Breakfast eaters are more likely to meet their daily needs for the 40-plus nutrients, including calcium and protein. When children miss breakfast, they miss out on about 25 percent of the nutrition they need, and more importantly, they seldom make up for it during the rest of the day! Eating a nutritious breakfast also equals achievement. Studies consistently show that a nutritious breakfast improves children’s academic performance and their ability to focus, concentrate and behave in the classroom. Breakfast is just as important for adults. Make sure that it’s part of your morning routine! Children learn by example. If morning is crunch time in your house, give school breakfast at try, it’s a great way for children to start their day with healthy nutrition.
