Breakfast in a Hurry

What ideas do you have for fitting in breakfast on busy, school and work days?
Answer:
The great thing about breakfast is that it's easy to make time for it even on the busiest mornings! You can prepare a nutritious and tasty breakfast in three minutes, tops! Breakfast is important because it helps kids focus, learn and meet their maximum potential. And, when you eat breakfast, it shows your children that eating breakfast is a priority.
Try these tips for a breakfast in a hurry:
- Check out breakfast at a school. It's for all families, regardless of income and a very convenient option that meets one-fourth of children's daily nutrient requirements. Many schools have new options that kids really like, such as breakfast in a bag or breakfast in the classroom.
- Keep breakfast foods highly visible and convenient for kids to grab. Think beyond the usual breakfast items and include foods, such as last night's leftovers or sandwich fixings. - Post a "Our Family's 3-Minute Breakfasts" menu. Brainstorm 3-minute breakfast ideas that work for your family and decide tonight what's on tomorrow's breakfast menu. - Take a breakfast to go. Grab a bagel with cheese, a muffin and smoothie, or a bag of cereal with a travel mug of low-fat milk and a banana when time is really crunched! Let older kids take cereal with sliced banana and milk in a 12-ounce disposable cup with a plastic spoon to eat in the car.
Get the entire family involved. Think good nutrition, and think out of the traditional breakfast box.
