Heart-Shaped Pizza
Makes 4 servings
Prep time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
1 10 ounce can refrigerated pizza dough
½ cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (2 ounces)
corn meal
Optional toppings:
broccoli florets
sliced olives
mushrooms
1. Adult preheats oven to 425 degrees F. Create a heart-shape template out of a clean paper towel.
2. Adult and child unroll refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle or square
shape on a clean counter. Place the heart template on the dough. Mark the
edge by using a fork to pierce the outline. Cut around the heart using clean
kitchen scissors.
3. Adult places heart shaped dough on greased cookie sheet that is sprinkled
lightly with corn meal. Pre-bake according to dough package directions. Cool
so that children can complete the next step.
4. Child uses a spoon or spatula to spread the pizza sauce evenly on the heart.
5. Child measures cheese and sprinkles over the pizza sauce.
6. Adult bakes at 425 degrees F for 7-10 minutes or until cheese melts and
the crust is golden brown.
