It's never too early, or too late, to make bone health a priority. Adequate calcium and vitamin D intake as part of a balanced diet throughout life helps build and maintain strong bones and can reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Three daily servings of low-fat or fat-free dairy foods, as recommended by the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, is an easy way to help meet calcium and vitamin D recommendations. Teach patients simple steps they can take now to help build and maintain strong bones for life. |
